My name is Andreas Smyris and I am a graduate of the M.Sc. Chemical Engineering of the University of Twente. I am one of the co-founders of Authentia Foundation, current Director Of Socializing and Secretary.
Authentia Foundation aspires to create a network of Greek scholars, giving the chance of collaboration and exchange of knowledge between scholars of distinct backgrounds, sharing the vision of ‘’shaping 2030’’ mission of the University of Twente.
When I arrived in the Netherlands, the cultural differences and difficulty to integrate and connect with other students were obvious for me from the beginning. What I aspire through Authentia, is to create a welcoming environment for Greek students who first arrive in Enschede and generate a positive attitude towards adapting to the Dutch culture. My goal is to integrate the Greek cultural events into the Dutch way of life and give the chance, especially to new-comers, to build their social and professional network.
